Parlamentswahlen in Sri Lanka

Mahinda Rajapaksa, zehn Jahre Premierminister mit zunehmend autoritären Zügen à la Putin, ist mit seiner Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) - die unter seiner Führung diesen Namen nicht verdient - der klare Verlierer der Wahlen in der vergangenen Woche. Für das Zusammenleben der ehemaligen Bürgerkriegsparteien der buddhistischen Singhalesen und der hinduistischen Tamilen auf der kleinen Vielvölkerinsel bleiben damit die Aussichten auf ein weiteres friedliches Zusammenwachsen gut.

Das Verdienst Rajapaksas war zweifellos, dass er den Krieg beendet hat. Ihm wird vorgeworfen, dass ihm das allerdings durch Korruption und Gewalt gelungen ist, und dass er danach sein Amt so weitergeführt hat. Die nun wiedergewählte Regierung nach seiner Amtszeit gibt sich immerhin Mühe. Sie bekennt sich zu Menschenrechten und hat bereits sichtbare Anstrengungen gemacht, Kriegsverbrechen und Korruption zu verfolgen.

Eine gute Entwicklung auf einer kleinen Insel in schwierigen Zeiten!

    You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be actually one thing which I think I would by no means understand.
